With every page, she’s on a mission to help kids build confidence, creativity, and a love of learning—one special name at a time.

I'm Debbie Parker — a registered nurse, passionate grandma, and creator of The Writing Connection. I started crafting these books at my kitchen table to help my own grandkids fall in love with reading and writing — and what began as a family project has blossomed into a true passion.
Each book is thoughtfully designed with hands-on activities that build important skills in reading, writing, and math, all while keeping screen time to a minimum. From learning letters to counting animals to spotting their own name in print, every page is meant to make learning fun, meaningful, and confidence-building.
These books aren’t just paper and ink — they’re tools of encouragement, connection, and discovery. It brings me endless joy to know they're helping children (and their grown-ups) explore, learn, and grow together.
